BC PNP Invites Entrepreneurs Under Two Streams in Latest Provincial Draw
British Columbia's Provincial Nominee Program issued invitations to entrepreneurs under two streams in its latest draw, continuing BC's effort to attract business owners who can create jobs and economic activity in the province.
British Columbia's Provincial Nominee Program has issued invitations to entrepreneur candidates under two of its business immigration streams in its latest draw, adding to a busy March for BC's immigration program.
The Two Streams
The Entrepreneur Immigration Base Category targets experienced business owners with a net worth of at least $600,000 CAD and a minimum personal investment of $200,000 CAD in a BC business. The Regional Pilot targets entrepreneurs willing to establish businesses outside the Metro Vancouver area, with lower thresholds designed to drive economic activity to communities that need it most.
How the Score System Works
BC's entrepreneur streams use a points-based registration system that scores candidates on business experience, net worth, investment amount, business concept viability, and the economic impact of the proposed business. Candidates are registered and ranked, with draws issued periodically to the top-scoring registrants.
Why BC Continues to Focus on Entrepreneurs
BC has been reducing its overall immigration volumes in 2026 in line with federal direction, but has maintained active entrepreneur streams as a strategic priority. Business immigration delivers immediate economic impact through investment and job creation, while the provincial government retains more direct control over which businesses and which locations receive support.
The Path to Permanent Residence
Entrepreneur nominees sign a performance agreement with the province committing to specific investment and employment milestones. Permanent residence nominations are issued after milestones are met, typically 18 to 24 months after business launch.
