Our Commitment to Accuracy

IRCC News is committed to publishing accurate, fact-based reporting on Canadian immigration policy and developments. We recognize that errors can occur despite our best efforts, and we take corrections seriously.

What We Correct

We correct factual errors, misstatements, misleading omissions, and inaccuracies in data, dates, names, quotations, and source attribution. We do not correct matters of opinion, analysis, or editorial interpretation unless they are demonstrably factually incorrect.

How Corrections Are Made

When an error is identified, whether by our editorial team, a reader, or a source, we:

• Acknowledge and investigate the error promptly.
• Correct the article text to reflect the accurate information.
• Append a clearly visible correction notice to the article, stating what was changed, when, and why.
• If the error is significant, we may also issue a separate editor's note or update our social media channels.

All corrections are published in the article itself with a timestamp. A typical correction notice reads:

Reporting an Error

Readers who believe they have identified an error in our reporting are encouraged to contact us immediately at news@irccnews.app with the article URL and a description of the suspected error. We review all submissions and respond as quickly as possible.

Updates vs. Corrections

Immigration policy is fluid, and articles may be updated to reflect new developments (e.g., new draw results, updated processing times, policy amendments). These updates are not corrections. They are additions to ongoing coverage. Only factual errors trigger a formal correction notice.
